Jeannette Meixner, née DesAutels passed on to reunite with her husband, the love of her life William Meixner, in the presence of the Lord on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at the age of 92.

Jean leaves behind to cherish her memory, sister, Anne Hall of Redford, MI; children, William (Rita O’Brien) Meixner of Breinigsville, PA, Katherine (John) Chasse of Paxton, MA, Julie (Tim) Lewandowski of Commerce Township, MI, Ben Meixner of Clinton, MA; grandchildren John Chasse, Joelle (Spencer) DesAutels, Sarah (Tim) McLean, Michelle Boitkus, Anthony Boitkus; 3 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are her husband and beloved son, Glenn Meixner.

Jean was born in Detroit on December 7, 1929, the second of seven children, and has made her home in several communities in Michigan and Massachusetts. She sacrificed much in material things to give the gift of time to her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. In addition to raising her five children, she volunteered as a teacher in Sunday school, PTA, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts and the schools. Once her youngest started grade school, she continued her own education to become an LPN. She worked for many years in the nursing homes of Marion Manor and Lake Park and loved working with the elderly.

Memorial services will be held at Commerce United Methodist Church, 1155 N. Commerce Road, Commerce, MI on Saturday, May 7 at 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Jimmy Fund, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02335.

Burial to take place at Mooreland Cemetery in Paxton, MA where she will be laid to rest with her husband and son.

Family meant so much to her and she will be missed.
